WELCOME to the Museum of Transport.
Apologies for the absence of updates lately. We have been experiencing difficulties uploading information to this page.
However, the MUSEUM OF TRANSPORT is open for business and about to complete its 228th appearance, at the Great Central Railway Model Railway Event at Quorn.
MUSEUM OF TRANSPORT is an exhibition layout, constructed over the last 25 years, and a popular layout at over 200 events during that time. We have won many trophies over the years as the layout is aimed at entertaining all ages and a wide range of interests.
The 19ft layout represents a working British Transport Museum and is packed with activity and items of historic transport interest.
Imagine taking the family out for the day to an 8 acre Transport themed venue, packed with opportunities to ride on trains, full size and miniature, trams and canal boats. Take time to explore the Railway Gallery and see the famous locomotives, big and small, representing railways from the early days of The Rocket, through the streamlined era of "The Big Four" to the standard types of last years of steam.
Wander amongst the exhibits and artefacts all displayed to allow interaction with the visitors.
The Road Gallery is a museum of British Road Transport from the earliest horse tram to more familiar vehicles like "Inspector Morse's" beautiful Jaguar car.
All this more is here to see in miniature on one exciting layout.
The MUSEUM OF TRANSPORT takes the visitor on a journey of nostalgia exploring the changes in transport throughout the past generations.
The layout is available for events of 2 days and more, Model Railway Exhibitions, Special Events at Heritage Railways and Museums.
We have appeared at the Stephenson Railway Museum at North Shields, the National Tramway Museum at Crich, Beamish Open Air Museum and the National Railway Museum at York.
